Poem 36 (77) -- When I'm late to work

Mikka Mi Amor                 Bones Kendall

When I'm late to work,
I'm afraid to say why,
But at home there’s a perk,
Which just makes me high.
How can I walk out the door
Without a smack of the lips?
How can I cross the floor
And not glance at those hips?
Believe me, this isn’t seduction–
There’s not enough time.
But neither is it production,
And they say that’s a crime.
However, I take another view–
I'm not afraid of the dare;
In fact, I challenge them to
Place a value on care.
