The basic concept behind this website is for users to ask questions and make comments.

Poetry is written by specialists for folks. That isn't an elitist kind of thing. Specialists are not determined by where one comes from but by what one does.

Readers of the site can post comments without logging in on many pages, including about specific poems.

I know the author, so I'm biased.

His poetry is great. He's giving it away for free, so you can decide for yourself.

Try it. Some of them are funny and some of them are deep. It's good stuff.

I found this book on Amazon new ESL books and was surprised when I did a search and found that the author put up this website.

I teach ESL in Taiwan and my classroom has a computer and projector so I just showed them a poem online and they liked it.

I had a friend back home buy me a copy mail it to me. I am photocopying different poems for the students.

And about slam...I haven't tried it. I would be willing to try, as I believe I can write what would make for good slam poetry, but I know that there's an art to performing it and that's not something I have enough experience with, though I'm not scared to make a fool of myself trying, so...
